Brazil - State bullets rain down on favelas

Since January and the start of the mandate of Rio de Janeiro’s new governor, Wilson Witzel, a close associate of President Bolsonaro, police violence against favela residents has risen sharply. There were 558 deaths in the first four months of the year, more than four a day. These are the worst statistics since these victims were first recorded in 1998.
