Denmark – Greenland’s guinea pig children

In the 1950, the Danish state took 22 Greenlandic children away from their families in order to make them participate, against their will, in a social experiment. They had were sent to a rehabilitation center where they were to be “danized” to form Greenland’s future elite.

Nearly 70 years later, the Danish government is preparing to apologize, following the promise, before he took office last June, to Denmark’s new Prime Minister, the Social Democrat Mette Frederiksen.
