How to use Artificial Intelligence in our creations

A disappointing result for this logo integration.

A disappointing result for this logo integration. Today, generative AI doesn’t handle typography or logos very well, a point that’s still evolving.

Introduction:
The use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in graphic design arouses both fascination and perplexity. At Kino, we’ve recently been experimenting with the possibilities of AI, particularly in the creation of greeting cards. However, we found that entrusting the design of our logo to Midjourney, without careful management of the algorithm, could sometimes lead to surprising and even confusing results for our customers and prospects.

The challenge of the algorithmic “black box”:
The use of AI for graphic design brings its own set of challenges, not least managing the algorithmic “black box”. Entering images and prompts without a thorough understanding of the algorithm can lead to results that are aesthetically pleasing but disconnected from the desired parameters. At Kino, we’ve recognized this problem and are striving to develop a more controlled creative process.

The importance of prompts and parameter management:
In our quest for an image that perfectly matches our needs and those of our customers, we spent several weeks painstakingly drafting prompts and precisely managing parameters. By integrating AI into a multi-software creation process, we aim to maximize productivity while maintaining optimum quality. It’s a real know-how that we’ve developed to make the most of AI’s capabilities, while remaining in control of all the parameters.

Constantly evolving technology:
Using AI to boost productivity and graphics quality is undeniably possible, but it requires constant adaptation to technological developments. Kino’s teams keep abreast of the latest advances in AI, exercising constant vigilance to remain at the cutting edge of emerging techniques.

The current trend: Merging AI and traditional software:
Currently, the trend in graphic design is towards a fusion of techniques, combining AI with traditional software such as Adobe After Effects, Photoshop, Illustrator and so on. This approach makes it possible to create works that merge the advantages of AI to stimulate the imagination and speed up creation, while retaining the essential role of traditional tools to finalize production. This makes it possible to produce complex elements in a matter of seconds, while guaranteeing compliance with technical constraints for distribution or printing.

Conclusion:
AI in graphic design offers considerable potential, but its implementation requires a delicate balance between innovation and mastery of parameters. At Kino, we’re passionate about this topic and invite anyone who shares this interest to come and talk to our teams. Together, let’s explore the opportunities offered by AI in the ever-changing creative world.
