Denmark - Greenland's guinea pig children

In the 1950s, the Danish government took 22 Greenlandic children away from their families, in order to involve them in a social experiment against their will. They had been sent to a re-education center where they were to be “danized” to train Greenland’s future elite.

Almost 70 years later, the Danish government is preparing to apologize, following up on a promise made by the new Danish Prime Minister, Social Democrat Mette Frederiksen, before she took office last June.
